Iffa and Iman

Yaya
Its his big nite or best his Tokwan's? We wanted to have his 'potong jambul' - so call hair cutting ceremony much earlier. But Tok Wan so eager to gather all her children and grandchildren during this ceremony and somehow school break has been decided by her a much suitable date. As for me by this date Ikram is much heavier and 'older' as it should be. Normally this ceremony should take place when the baby is still an infant maybe the most 3 months, but mine hmm a young and handsome boy already. With his kicking and pinching people and things around what would you expect from him. To make things even a laughter, with his almost bald head. What to cut then? As expected much earlier it ends up to be only few of her children and grandchildren turn up. It's School holiday ma. See I told ya. So it wont make any different if we could have it much earlier. Anyway, past is past and lets move on.
So back to this hair cutting or anyone has any better word to express this ceremony? So it happend to be quite a number of the Marhaban and Yassin group turn up which Tok Wan didnt expect at all. Most of my siblings are here as well.
It was quite traumatic when the elderly wanted to perform the 'hair cutting' with Ikram doesnt have any hair. Not to say bald but his's so fine and short some found it very difficult to cut and this is scary. Am afraid they might cut his skin and flesh. Some even shows with trembling hands. MasyaAllah.
So we brought him round the group for the elderly to take turn to potong his jambul. At one point we had difficulty due to his hand busying holding the tray as well. The tray holds up scissor, bowls to place the hair and some white powder which I'm not sure what was it. We had to pull his hands from the tray which he gripped quite tight. This is my Ikram, with very strong gripping ability.
Ceremony went very well with few minor things which can be improved further. I've noticed my in-laws doesnt have the capability of hosting. All they knew was preparing and gathering among themselves at the kitchen especially filling up their own stomach. No one have the initiative to take a look of whether or not the drinks and dishes need to be replenished. Some guests especially the elderly including my Mom are not suitable with buffet style due to their physical inability. Luckily Ajai was around and since we...i said we i.e my siblings are so familiar with hosting guests we know what need to be done. So without hesitation she went to the kitchen and make necessary preparation. I put Ikram aside ( this wont be any problem because he has so many admirers around) and replenished what needed.
And there goes the nite for Ikram or should I said Tok Wan? I can see Tok Wan was so happy. Yeah I guess it will be her first and maybe last for Ikram??? We dont know but lets pray she will be there for Ikram' Khatan InsyaAllah.
